This year’s nominees have been revealed and we are happy to announce that MY ACE has been nominated for the 2023 BOAT International World Superyacht Awards.

The 45-metre steel and aluminium full-custom yacht, of which we managed the design and construction as project manager and owner’s representative, will compete in the category of displacement motor yachts below 499GT, between 40 and 44.9 metres.

The World Superyacht Awards recognizes excellence in yachting achievements. It is the most prestigious award ceremony in the yachting industry where the most remarkable luxury yachts from across the world are awarded by a judging panel comprising current and former superyacht owners.

We are proud of this nominee and wish ACE luck for her nominee for the 18th edition of the WSA ceremony which will take place from 19-20 May in Istanbul, Turkey.

Built by Conrad, ACE features exterior lines penned by Raymond Langton, naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design and interiors conceived for her Owner by the Italian design duo M2 Atelier.

After acting as the Owner’s Pre-purchase Advisor and Representative, advising and supporting the client in the 9-month selection process of the project team, we managed and coordinated the definition and development of the preliminary project and technical specification, as well as, the negotiation and closing of the contract. During this period, we expertly guided our client thorough out the whole process by setting up meetings to introduce him to potential builders and designers that in our experience could meet the Owner’s expectations and requirements for his final evaluation and selection. By attending the major yacht shows around the world from Cannes, through Monaco to Miami and Palm Beach, we showed the client the quality each player within the building industry could deliver and various yacht layouts helping him further develop his vision for his future superyacht.  After the selection of the team, we managed the development of the preliminary project and drew a comprehensive design and technical specification to be included in the Yacht Construction Contract. Working with the client’s legal advisors we managed the negotiation and signing of the YCC with the builder.

After the contract, we remotely managed the development of the executive project design and engineering during a very challenging time through Covid lockdowns. Under these circumstances, we highly appreciated the ability of Conrad’s internal team and the Owner’s interior designers to overcome the difficulties of the time, successfully delivering this phase of the project on schedule.

We then managed the construction as the owner’s project manager and representative up to the completion by monitoring the project’s progress and supervising each construction stage, ensuring its compliance with the contract and reporting the progress to the client.

During the final stage of the building process, we worked along with the shipyard team to oversee all tests and commissioning procedures to arrive at the final acceptance and delivery of the yacht to the Owner.

Thanks to an expert advisory and management of the project combined with a deep knowledge of the construction process of a fully customized yacht, the final result turned out to be very successful for the team and ended up even exceeding the expectations of the client. The second hull and sister ship of MY ACE has already been sold and construction is in progress.
